Soloman Huel Morgan

Soloman Huel Morgan, 90, of Du Quoin, passed away at 10:30 P.M., Friday, May 30, 2003 at his residence.
Huel retired in 1968 as a coal mine electrician having worked for various coal companies. He was a member of the First Christian Church of Du Quoin. He was also a member of the United Mine Workers of America Local 9721.
He was born March 17, 1913 at Hallidayboro, IL the son of Soloman and Lottie (Etherton) Morgan.
He married Alta Celeste Woodyard on January 9, 1936 at Energy, IL and she survives.
He is survived by his wife of Du Quoin, two daughters- Burma Miller and husband Robert and Sherry L Moss and husband Stephen both of Du Quoin, sister- Alberta G. Jones of Du Quoin, seven grandchildren- Kim Bergthold and husband Chris of Congerville, Kris Darnell of Du Quoin, Kelly Miller and wife Yvonne of Du Quoin, Dedrae McIntosh & husband Chuck of Du Quoin, Shannon Davison of Du Quoin, Heather Lee & husband Mike of Tamaroa, Travis Burris & wife Jill of Du Quoin, fourteen great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, two step grandchildren-Devan Tweedy and Debra Moss, six step great granddchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, five sisters and one brother.
Funeral services were at 1:00 P.M., Monday, June 2, 2003 at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin with Rev. John Lewis officiating.
Friends called from 5 to 8 P.M. Sunday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.
Interment was in the Sunset Memorial Park at Du Quoin.
